Domain Name Services

Registering a Domain Name can be an exercise in futility. The registrars do not make a lot of money from domain name registrations so they attempt to sell you all sorts of other products and services. The registration process becomes so complicated that it becomes difficult to determine if any of the additional services or products are necessary. Most are a waste, but a Privacy service is a recommended addition. If registering a domain name is not your cup of tea, we can handle the process for you.

During the registration process, important information needs to be entered, such as the registree's name, and whether the registration is a company registration, contact information, and finally financial information, such as credit card information.

Domain names are never "owned," merely licensed for a period of time.

We register Domain Names as part of our Domain Name Services package.

The services include Domain Name Registration service, maintenance of the Registrar Control Panel, Name Server Updating, and e-mail reminders when domain names become due.

Domain names are registered in your name but through a privacy registration service. You must provide the information needed to register the domain name, such as Company or individual name, and associated contact information. Your contact information will not be visible to the public when accessing the WhoIs database. Our technical support will be the technical contact.

The price is $40 per year per domain name, plus the price of the registration, which typically ranges from around $8.99 to $15 per domain name (depending on promotions at registrar). If I have a contract to host the website, the price drops from $40 to $30 per year (plus domain name fees) for as long as I host the website. If I have a contract to develop the website, the price drops to $20 per year (plus domain name fees) for as long as I have a maintenance contract for the website.

One caveat to multiple domain names registered at the same time: when a domain name is registered, usually the registrar makes an offer to register the same domain name with different TLDs (Top Level Domain). For example, if you register alongname.com, if they are available, the registrar will likely offer or suggest also registering alongname.org and alongname.net. If your choice is to register multiple variants of the same domain name, and they can be added to the same order, and will have the same values set (contact, name servers, etc.), then my charge is not a multiple of the price you pay for one domain name. If the domain names will have different name servers or will have different contact information, then you need to have separate contracts for each domain name because they will be managed differently (basically, it is my time I am concerned about).

Domain Name Services Contracts are for one year, becoming due for renewal, one month prior to the domain name becoming due for renewal, in order that we have time to make any necessary changes for the renewal. You may end the service at the end of the year of a contract.

In order for us to make changes, or register a domain name in your behalf, you need to sign a contract that gives us permission to perform the work.
